Bracebridge Dental Care

Appointment Scheduling and Short Notice Cancellation Policy

Our office aims to provide care in ways that best meet your needs and schedules. However, missed clinic appointments and frequent cancellations do impact our ability to provide quality services and support patients in achieving optimal dental health.

We pride ourselves in respecting patients’ time and do our best to provide patients with appointment times at our earliest availability. When patients schedule an appointment at our office, our providers reserve this time specifically for them.

If you are not able to keep a previously scheduled appointment at our office, we are always happy to change it if you provide us with a minimum of two business days’ notice. This allows us enough time to schedule an appointment for another patient.

When an appointment time is reserved for a patient and they fail to attend or provide sufficient notice to cancel or reschedule, we are unable to give patients that require urgent and/or emergent care or patients on waitlists enough notice to come into our office for treatment. And when a minimum of two business days’ notice is not provided, our office will charge a nominal fee of $75.00.

Appointment confirmations and reminders

An appointment is always confirmed at the time of booking; however, as a courtesy to our patients, our office uses an automated service to send appointment confirmations and reminders by email and SMS. Patients are responsible for attending and/or rescheduling their appointment(s). Patients are not exempt from our cancellation fees if they report that they did not receive our supplementary text/email reminders, as appointments are confirmed at the time of booking.

How do I cancel my appointment?

Patients can contact the office by phone 705-645-6655, email info@bracebridgedentalcare.com, or text message 705-710-9434 to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Illness and weather-related cancellations

We encourage patients to take extra precaution and plan ahead when scheduling and confirming appointments during anticipated weather-related events, especially during our winter season in Muskoka.

Similarly, we encourage patients to contact the office at the onset of symptoms to avoid providing the office with insufficient notice should you become ill. Patients who develop illnesses that prevent them from attending their appointment within our two business days’ notice period will still be expected to pay the short notice cancellation fee.

If our office is open, then it is an expectation that patients attend their scheduled appointment.

What if I miss more than one appointment?

If a patient does not show up for their appointment and/or fails to give the office appropriate notice on more than one occasion, the patient may be expected to pre-pay for their prospective appointment(s).

Furthermore, appointments lengths of 1 ½ hours or longer are subject to a deposit of 50% of the treatment cost at the time of booking.

If you have any further questions regarding your scheduled appointment or our Short Notice Cancellation Policy, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
